One of several on-line news articles about a long-term interest of ours to discover how injured mitochondria are selected on a molecular level for recycling. This project was seeded with a small University of Pittsburgh pilot grant from the Center for the Environmental Basis of Human Disease in 2005, and outlived the center, eventually involving almost everyone in the lab, plus a host of fantastic collaborators.
